Teach Your Children Well

The Suge Knight case of alleged vehicular homicide is sure to stay in the news for a long time, but of the well publicized deadly collisions we've seen over the last day or so, the case of Lexi and Eli Garcia in Wilmington might be the saddest of all. In a set of circumstances that can give even a seasoned LA accident lawyer pause, the teenage brother and sister were killed in a horrific wrong way crash on PCH involving a number of other vehicles.

Working in the personal injury field of law, we are all too aware that sometimes the worst really can happen. Fortunately, there is one thing parents and others can do to try and prevent these kind of circumstances, and it boils down to one word: education. It's true that teenagers do not have the same level of impulse control as older people, but educators and parents can remind kids of two important things. First, that they really can be killed or permanently disabled in a car crash, and then remind them of exactly what that means in terms of missing out on the rest of their lives. Many teens might be natural risk takers but hopefully parents and educators can channel that into healthy areas such as sports or the arts.

Ask ask personal injury attorney in Los Angeles or anywhere else, we see far too many deadly and debilitating accidents involving teenagers. Talking to them might be the best tool we have for preventing more of those tragic instances.

Don’t Wait to Pursue Justice!

If you’ve been in an accident that resulted in a personal injury, it’s understandable that you may not want to add more stress to the equation by having to be in and out of court. A lot of people feel compelled to wait a while after the accident so that they don’t have too much on their plate at any given time, but that is not always the best strategy to win over the opinion of the court. By securing our help early in the process, you can ensure that you have the best chance of getting the compensation you deserve.

While the statute of limitations does not make the case invalid for several years, it is easier for the court to recognize emotional pain if it is present rather than in the past. Luckily, Cameron Yadidi Brock is an LA accident lawyer who bears the brunt of the case for his clients so they can focus on their recovery and not on the stresses of the court.

Mr. Brock has an outstanding trial record, and the Law Offices of Burg & Brock as a whole have recovered over 100 million dollars in verdicts and settlements.

Where are the Flying Cars?

If you're old enough to remember extravagant mid-20th century claims about the inevitable march of progress, you're probably also familiar with the plaintive cry of many an aging baby boomer. "It's 2015...so where is my flying car?"

As this year's Detroit Auto Show continues, it's a good time to take a look at where we've gone from automotive technology from the point of view of a personal injury attorney. What's replaced the flying car in the modern mindset are two ideas that seem a lot safer and more practical: the electric and the self-driving car. At the higher end, outstanding fully electric cars such as the Tesla are now a definite practical reality, and the unveiling of the Chevy Bolt means that popularly priced electrics with large driving ranges are on their way as well.

Of course, the car that truly could revolutionize auto safety, the Google Car, is still a work in progress. The latest story is that the self-driving car has has been, we're sure temporarily, defeated by snow. While this is truly exciting technology, auto safety is inevitably going to remain an issue for years -- though the kind of legal cases might that we'll see might well change and evolve.

In the meantime, Cameron Yadidi Brock and the entire team of the Law Offices of Burg and Brock are here to help out when due compensation isn't forthcoming from today's all-too-common injury car accidents. We have a great trial record which we plan to maintain indefinitely, even if they ever come out with those flying cars.

Car Maintenance Tips for Avoiding Dangerous Driving Hazards

Let’s face it: most of us don’t know much about the cars we drive. Still, we love our vehicles, and they’re essential for getting us from point A to point B. Nevertheless, as a top LA accident lawyer, we know firsthand just how dangerous the vehicles on the road can be. Between road hazards and other drivers, things can get pretty dicey out there. If something does go wrong, you’ll need to make sure you’re properly represented by a good personal injury lawyer like us. In the meantime, here are dangerous driving hazards you can avoid just by practicing a little vehicle maintenance.

·         Regularly check oil: Checking your oil regularly isn’t just good for the health and longevity of your car, it can help you avoid a dangerous situation. If you neglect your oil levels completely and your engine runs bone dry you could suffer a flair up and a car fire while driving. An extremely dangerous situation you’ll want to avoid.

·         Regularly test brakes and check fluid: A car without brakes  is nothing but a high speed projectile ready to cause mayhem. Always make sure your fluid is topped off and test your brakes every once in a while to make sure they’re working the way they should.

·         Check Lights. This one’s easy to forget because you might not notice if all of your lights are working properly. Every so often, before you leave, turn on your lights and step out of the car to check

Hopefully, you’ll never run into trouble in the road and won’t need an attorney in Los Angeles, but if you ever do, remember that the Law Offices of Burg & Brock always have your back.
