Product Recalls Often Hurt the Most Defenseless

A passion here at the Law Offices of Burg & Brock, Inc. is product liability law. Led by experienced personal injury lawyer in Los Angeles, Cameron Brock, the legal team here truly believes that product recalls (whether voluntary or posted by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission) happen too frequently. This disregard for the safety of American consumers shows that corporations, time and time again, are placing profit over the well-being of the everyman.

Here are some recent examples that show that, more often than not, product recalls hurt the most helpless:
  • The Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumpers can injure infants from an impact hazard. Over 61 injuries, including skull fracture, have been reported from the 408,000 units sold.
  • Rockland Furniture round cribs have defective drop-side rails that can detach. 3900 cribs have been recalled.
  • This is in addition to bottles of salsa sold in dollar stores nationwide, portable fan heaters, Viking built-in refrigerators, and more purchased by consumers who just wanted a snack, warmth, food preservation, and other services in exchange for their hard earned money.
At Burg & Brock, we pursue all of our product recall cases with the diligence they deserve to truly defend the helpless. This could by why Mr. Brock has an over 97% success rate as a product liability lawyer.

If you've been injured by an unsafe product that was rushed to market due to negligence or greed, please contact a Burg & Brock attorney in los angeles.  Call for a FREE consultation at 1-888-509-2998.

A Fool for a Client

The Internet has given us many things; some are great whether you're an attorney in Los Angeles or a farmer in Wisconsin. Others are more in the nature of mixed blessings.

One thing that many personal injury lawyers and others in the legal profession have noticed is that we're seeing -- or not seeing, as the case may be -- a number of self-appointed legal experts. These are people who have read just enough online to have a very false sense of security about their legal knowledge, and are representing themselves in legal matters. In most cases it's a bad idea.

Now, there may be cases, such as very small claims or very simple proceedings, where this can work -- up to a point, anyway. Still, for the vast majority of cases involving significant amounts of money, there really is no substitute for a fully trained and competent legal professional. We know it's still fashionable  to denigrate attorneys but, believe it or not, learning the law is far from easy. The reason high profile legal cases are so fascinating to the public is largely that all of them seem to have a million sides and can be argued over incessantly -- and that's when they're being vastly oversimplified by the media.

Trust us, the old expression that someone who acts as his attorney has a fool for a client has a strong basis in fact. There are some fields where you can save yourself money, if not time, by going DIY. Law isn't one of them and, fortunately, in many cases contingency fee lawyers like everyone here at the Law Offices of Burg and Brock, are available. If you find yourself doing the work of personal injury lawyers in Los Angeles or anywhere else, stop right now and get yourself qualified legal representation. And, of course, if it's a personal injury matter, you can always call on Cameron Y. Brock and see if our team can help you win your case. This is a job for the professionals.

Theme Park Accidents Remind us of the Importance of Personal Injury Lawyers

Cameron Y. Brock may be the premier personal injury, wrongful death and product liability attorney in Los Angeles, on top of his expertise in a series of other specialties, but that doesn't mean Mr. Brock, and the team at the Law Offices of Burg & Brock Inc. are all business. We also like to relax with our families and friends in our time off, particularly during the summer holidays, and we hope all of our clients get the opportunity to do the same.

Yet, in the midst of recreation and summer fun, the need for truly first-rate personal injury lawyers still remains. We were recently reminded of this fact when reading of a theme park accident in Washington that tragically resulted in the death of a 45-year-old man. A story in the Reedsburg Times-Press detailed the incident, in which a man enjoying a day at the Extreme World amusement park lost control of his go-kart and collided with a wood post. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further research illustrates just how common theme park-related deaths and injuries truly are. A study in the journal Clinical Pediatrics found that between 1990 and 2010, approximately 93,000 children aged 17 or younger were taken to hospital emergency departments in the U.S. for treatment of injuries sustained on amusement park rides.

These stories should hopefully serve as an all-important wake-up call for those who are unaware of the importance of personal injury lawyers such as Cameron Y. Brock. Fortunately, our team of personal injury lawyers in Los Angeles have made a significant impact among the victims of tragic personal injury incidences, resulting in over $100 million collected in verdicts and settlements.

This summer, we urge you to have fun, but remember to be careful, and if an injury is to occur, remember that you can always call on Cameron Y. Brock and his team to fight for your rights.
