Total Recall

As a leading Los Angeles personal injury attorney we prepared to take on cases of any nature here at the Law Offices of Burg and Brock. These cases can be quite diverse because there’s no shortage of ways one can suffer injury at the fault of someone else and deserve compensation for it. These cases can range from vehicle accidents, to home or work place incidents, and even be the result of faulty products. For that reason, companies have to hold themselves accountable if they have a product on their hands that fails. This can affect any kind of company as Trek Bikes has recently learned all too well.

This week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall of Trek bicycles with quick release levers on the front wheels on models from the years 2000 through 2015. There have been three reported injuries as a result of a malfunction causing the front wheel to stop or come off the bike completely. One injury resulted in a rider becoming a quadriplegic. We certainly hope in these cases, the involved party contacted a good personal injury lawyer.  If you’ve been affected, our offices are a good choice. As a LA accident lawyer, we’re no strangers to bike related incidents.

Not all Lawyers are Skilled Litigators

Although many people are not aware of the distinction, there is a difference between a lawyer and a true litigator. Many lawyers have a deep understanding of the law, but do not have the passion needed to fight for their clients in a court of law. A strong litigator, like Cameron Yadidi Brock, is always the type of LA accident lawyer you want to have in your corner. Mr. Brock and the rest of our team fight hard for our clients, and will do anything we can – in or out of court – to get you the outcome that you deserve.

Unlike many personal injury lawyers who will cower from a case that cannot be settled out of court, we will go where we are needed, and do what we need to in order to win. Our firm has a 97 percent success rate, and we have recovered over 100 million dollars on behalf of our clients over the years. With a track record like that, there’s no reason for anyone in need of a Los Angeles personal injury attorney to go anywhere else.

Landmark Sidewalk Settlement Aims to Decrease Injuries, Increase Access

After years of deliberation, the City of Los Angeles announced that they would agree to a 1.4 billion dollar settlement that will be put towards fixing the city’s notoriously damaged sidewalks. This is meant to settle a class-action lawsuit that was filed according to the Americans with Disabilities Act, after it was claimed that not only were injuries caused due to tripping and slip-and-fall, but overall access is not up to standard for anyone needing to get around with “wheelchairs, scooters, and other assistive devices."

This lawsuit is an important reminder of keeping premises, both public and private, up to expected safety and accessibility standards. Premises liability lawsuits can easily arise if property owners are reckless about safety conditions, and they can result in serious injuries. While this case will hopefully prevent many future injuries, the right to keep areas safe is a never ending battle. But, if you need a LA accident lawyer to fight for you when you’ve been injured, there is no better choice than Cameron Yadidi Brock and the Law Offices of Burg & Brock.

Protecting Legal Rights by Land, Air, and Sea

The recent crash landing of flight AC624 in Canada was yet another in a string of terrifying incidents aboard airliners during a particularly distressing time for air travel. Fortunately, all 133 passengers survived the crash, though 25 were hospitalized. Now, as reported by the Huffington Post, at least two law firms are preparing to sue Air Canada on behalf of passengers involved in the crash. Though personal injury is the last thing you’d want to experience during your next flight, it does beg the question: if an incident happens, who’s responsible?

As a top LA accident lawyer we certainly believe in just compensation here at the Law Office of Burg & Brock. If you’re injured as a result of someone else’s actions it’s always important to ensure your legal rights are protected whether it’s a plane crash or a car crash. As we’ve seen in the past, as was the case with the 2013 Asiana Flight 214 in San Francisco, passengers are entitled to compensation. The after effects of an accident are always difficult for the parties involved, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Seek an experienced attorney in Los Angeles like Cameron Yadidi to help you through any legal difficulties.

Wine Arsenic Lawsuit Highlights Negligence and Product Liability

Last week, an interesting lawsuit was filed against several California winemakers that alleges unsafe levels of arsenic found in a variety of cheaper wine. This lawsuit is unique, because no instances of injury or death have been put claimed as a result of the supposed arsenic, and many of the companies are denying that the danger even exists. While this lawsuit is too new and undeveloped for a product liability lawyer to speculate the outcome or validity on each side, it is definitely something worth watching in the negligence lawsuit field.

GM Class Action Suit Is a High Profile Reminder Of Product Liability

For much of the past year, General Motors has learned the hard way that not all press is good press, as various lawsuits have been brought against the automaker claiming that they were negligent in failing to recall vehicles resulted in at least 67 deaths and a multitude of injuries. Yesterday, it was announced that CEO Mary Barra and dozens of other executives will be deposed for the case.

This may be the most high profile product liability case that is currently moving through the United States court system, but it is just one of many. Cameron Yadidi Brock and the rest of his team at the Law Offices of Burg & Brock have represented similar clients whose proper use of a company’s product resulted in injury because of the company’s negligence.

When looking for an attorney in Los Angeles, it is important that you enlist the help of the Law Offices of Burg & Brock when pursuing justice. We have been successful in collecting compensation for our clients in 97% of our cases, and, in addition to our trial record, we never back down from a challenge. When you deserve justice, there’s no reason to be intimidated by a large corporate interest that is in the wrong.

Work Safely

For the first time in the history of American entertainment, a Hollywood film director has been incarcerated for an on-set death. The tragic incident while shooting the abortive Allman brothers film biography, "Midnight Rider" resulted in the death of a 27 year-old camera assistant and several injuries suffered by other crew members. The details of the case are disturbing, as the prosecution has argued that the crew was recklessly attempting to film a scene on some railroad tracks without proper permission, and with obviously incorrect information regarding train schedules.

As the offices of a top LA accident lawyer, we hope that the plea deal that resulted in director Randall Miller's jailing will be a wake-up call that will send a message not only to those in the entertainment business, but to all employers. A personal injury or death can happen in any work situation, though some are obviously more dangerous than others.

Regardless, it is nevertheless incumbent upon supervisors to ensure that employees are not placed in harm's way. The entertainment business is notorious for sometimes pressuring employees in such a way that might encourage them to behave recklessly. However, employers and supervisors need to realize that, if they want to avoid having to deal with an aggressive civil or even criminal attorney in Los Angeles, they need to keep safety top of mind. It's often a matter of life and death, not only for individuals, but for careers.
