"This is the largest study to date of the clinical presentation and course of CTE in autopsy-confirmed cases of the disease," said Robert A. Stern, PhD, the author of the study.

Atlanta Teen Dies after Spinal Injury in Football Game

Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Atlanta-area teenager De'Antre Turman in the wake of his unexpected death just one week ago. Turman’s passing came as a shock to his friends and family, who will gather on Saturday morning to pay their respects. A high school football player, Turman reportedly collapsed and became instantly unresponsive after tackling the receiver in a scrimmage game last Friday.

Unpredictable injuries occur all the time. When they do, it is important for people to have access to an excellent spinal cord injury lawyer. Since 1996, the Law Offices of Burg & Brock have established themselves as a leading personal injury law firm for victims of brain and spinal injuries. Founder Cameron Brock has successfully secured over $100 million for his clients, many of whom suffer from bulging and herniated discs.

It is common for bulging disks, compression fractures and other related spinal problems to arise from on-the-job injuries. Unfortunately, businesses all too often make it incredibly difficult for their injured employees to recover while maintaining a standard level of job security. Disputes can also occur when companies refuse to help cover the injured parties’ medical bills. With a brand new office in Beverly Hills, the Law Offices of Burg & Brock have made it easier than ever for Westside residents to be represented by some of the most outstanding personal injury lawyers in Los Angeles. If you or a loved one suffers from a spinal cord injury, call the Law Offices of Burg & Brock at 1-888-509-2998 today.

Birth Defect Tragedy Comes to Light After Decades of Inaction

GlaxoSmithKline might sound more like the name of an ironic indie band than a drug manufacturer, but they are under fire these days for something far graver than a bad company name.

A heart-wrenching case out of Philadelphia this week highlights the importance of having an aggressive product liability lawyer on your side. A lawsuit filed by Debra Johnson more than 30 years ago is finally moving forward. Johnson alleges the clubbed hands and other sever deformities she inherited at birth resulted from her mother taking thalidomide, GlaxoSmithKline's morning sickness treatment drug.

At the Law Offices of Burg & Brock, the premier personal injury law firm in Los Angeles, we are committed to championing consumer protection laws that seek to prevent tragedies like this from happening again. Until the day comes when drug-induced birth defects are a thing of the past, it's essential to have a personal injury attorney who will stand tough against drug company abuses in product liability cases.

Founder Cameron Brock is dedicated to fighting for the victims of drug-caused birth defects and other personal injuries. If you or someone you know is suffering from an untreated birth defect that may have resulted from a negligent drug not monitored by the FDA, contact the Law Offices of Burg & Brock to schedule an appointment today.

New Study Suggests LA Drivers Need Quality Legal Protection Now More Than Ever

What's worse: the study indicates that traffic in the City of Angels is up 6% over last year's record-setting figures. Big Train a' Comin'

The tragic and extremely deadly train accident in Santiago de Compostela in Spain last week brings up some disturbing questions for Americans. While the number of train accidents worldwide indicates that their level of safety is, on the whole, better than other forms of travel, the Spanish incident indicates that  personal fallibility plays an enormous role.

Moreover, with the increasing difficulty of air travel after 9/11 and the continued high price of gasoline, train travel is likely to remain steadily on the increase here in the U.S. That means that, from the point of view of a vehicle accident lawyer, more lawsuits will be on the horizon in coming years. From the point of the rest of us, however, there's certainly no reason at all to avoid train travel, though we should all be mindful of the risks from a public policy of view. While the Spanish accident is one of the worst in memory anywhere, we've seen our share of horrific light rail and other accidents right here in California.

It might technically be considered a crime rather than an accident, but the 2005 incident in which a deranged individual left his vehicle on Metrolink trains, causing 11 deaths and some 180 injuries is a particularly horrific incident that is worth remembering. While the owner of the vehicle was obviously primarily to blame, a capable personal injury lawyer or other observer might wonder whether enough precautions were taken against such an incident at the time.

The fact that the much more recent Spanish incident may well have been largely caused by a distracted or otherwise careless driver is another reminder that multiple parties may be liable for injuries resulting from train accidents. Of course, the more everyone involved in the operation of trains, including passengers, remains mindful of the risks, the fewer of these tragic accidents we'll all have to deal with.

In the meantime, if you do get injured and find yourselves in need of a personal injury attorney in Los Angeles, the outstanding lawyers the Law Offices of Burg and Brock are here for you.
