When you're a vehicle accident lawyer, you see the damage that auto accidents can do on a pretty regular basis. So, we were naturally interested to read of a push -- led by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, the National Safety Council and the University of Iowa -- to help make sure that drivers had a more complete understanding of the advanced safety features that an increasing number of cars are currently incorporating. The campaign is being spearheaded by the website, MyCarDoesWhat.org.
The truth is that today's vehicles have a number of features which should have the very positive effect of giving personal
injury attorneys fewer tragic cases to be involved with. The kind of safety features the new website covers includes such now relatively standard features as anti-lock brakes and some more leading edge items including back-up cameras, blind-spot monitors, and lane departure warnings.
Safety features that actually prevent collisions are obviously a very good thing, and certainly making sure the public understands how they can help is a positive step.Sadly, of course, these kind of features may reduce highway tragedies but they won't end them entirely. When safety fails and personal
injury attorneys are needed, we're still here to help.
