Anywhere, Any Time

Working in the field of personal injury law, there may be times when those of us in the field feel as if we've seen just about every kind of tragedy and mishap. Even so, the incident that took place this week in which former Olympian turned television personality Bruce Jenner, found himself in an accident which took the life of Calabasas resident and philanthropist Kim Howe, kind of threw us for a loop. We've accumulated quite a trial record, but it's been awhile since we seen a case locally quite so tragic involving people quite like this.

Reports right now are centering on a number of coincidences surrounding the case. Jenner and Howe did not know each other, but they have a number of loose connections in common. In particular, Ms. Howe was a neighbor of several members of the Kardashian family.

It's a small world, so maybe it's not too surprising that a car accident in Malibu would involve two people with a number of seemingly odd connections. What it is, however, is a reminder that it doesn't matter who you are -- world famous athlete, a well-liked animal rights activist, or even an LA accident lawyer -- the only thing separating you from a horrific mishap is good luck and your own good judgement in avoiding dangers. In other words, stay alert!
