Bicycle Helmets for Kids and Common Sense

As personal injury lawyers in Los Angeles, there's little doubt that some of the most heartbreaking cases we see are vehicular injuries involving children, many of them when they are riding bicycles. In fact, a recent study by researchers pointed out that, of the children treated in Los Angeles for bicycle-related injuries, only 11 percent during a five year period were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. Of the nine children in the study who died, eight of them were not wearing a helmet at the time of collision. Moreover, as any spinal cord injury lawyer can tell you, serious injuries in people of all ages are definitely reduced by wearing helmets.

While many of us grew up in the age before bicycle helmets became standard, we're surprised that anyone allows their children to ride bikes without a helmet. Now matter who is at fault in an accident, a bicycle accident injury where a child was not wearing a helmet can be tragic. Please make sure your bicycle riding kids wear helmets. It's really just plain common sense.

If, on the other, you or your child has been involved in a bicycle accident where the other party was at fault and you are not being duly compensated, our personal injury law firm are able to help. Call 888-979-7979 and we'll do whatever we can.
